Dale & Thomas Popcorn Keeps Popping with Outsourced IP Phone System
Headquartered in Englewood, New Jersey, Dale & Thomas is a nationally acclaimed gourmet popcorn maker with 135 employees and five retail outlets in the New York area. Since its founding in 2002, the company has grown tremendously and is opening more than two hundred additional stores nationwide. When the company opened a new manufacturing plant in Teaneck, NJ, it needed an end-to-end phone system solution installed quickly. Dale & Thomas initially selected a hosted IP phone system from SBC Communications (now AT&T), a service provider that made big promises regarding features and functionality. Unfortunately, the solution took months to implement and broke down almost weekly. After a year of struggling with the incumbent telecom provider, Dale & Thomas decided it was time to replace their phone system.
The company’s third-party IT support provider, Network Doctor, was involved in the planning and build-out of the company’s new plant. They recommended M5’s Outsourced IP Phone System after watching employees at Dale & Thomas endure persistent downtime and business disruption with their existing service provider. After signing up with M5, Dale & Thomas received a private, dedicated T1 connection, and Network Doctor worked with M5’s technical team to port the company’s existing telephone numbers and reconnect their internal voice network to the new phone system to ensure a smooth cutover with minimal business disruption.
Since implementing M5’s Outsourced IP Phone System, Dale & Thomas has quadrupled in size, tripled the size of its manufacturing facility and opened additional retail locations. Its IT staff enjoys the ability to easily scale the company’s communications infrastructure and connect remote locations using M5’s outsourced solution, something that was impossible with its previous phone system.
